Upgrading our homes and neighbourhoods

- We will ensure many older HDB blocks in Jurong GRC are upgraded through the Home Improvement Programme (HIP). We will also expand the Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP), adding better facilities for both our young and seniors.
- We are expanding sporting facilities for young and old. In addition to the Jurong Spring Playfields, a new ActiveSG Sports Village@Jurong Town on the site of the old Jurong Stadium, and much larger, will be developed by 2022. We will also provide more fitness corners and playgrounds in all our Jurong GRC estates, plus inclusive playgrounds that are safe for all children including those with disabilities.
- More Silver Zone Schemes will be implemented along roads within our neighbourhoods. We will also ensure that all public spaces and linkways are wheelchair-friendly, and are working
with government agencies to install several more lifts at pedestrian overhead bridges.
- We will continue to invest in covered linkways, drop-off points and other infrastructure to improve daily life for residents. We have completed 6 high covered linkways across our roads, and will be building another 15 over the next 5 years.
WHAT WE ARE DOING TOGETHER IN JURONG GRC
We must never stop in our efforts to make Singapore better, for every citizen.
We believe this requires good government policies complemented by strong community initiatives.
We strengthened many of our schemes during COVID-19, and will continue with several of these initiatives in Jurong GRC even after the pandemic.
We will work closely with government agencies, volunteer organisations, employers, our many committed volunteers and all our residents,
to build a strong and compassionate community.
